Manchester United have so far done a decent job in regards to getting players to commit to new long-term deals.
However, there is still work to be done. Amongst those who can potentially walk away from Old Trafford for free this summer is Ander Herrera.
The Basque-born midfielder is yet to sign a new deal at the club, although we’re all clearly desperate for him to stick around.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are the latest side to show an interest in him, should Herrera decide to call time on life in Manchester.
The fact that he can walk away for free means Arsenal, or other potential suitors including Paris Saint-Germain can offer him a huge wage packet.
Obviously, we all want him to stay. He’s a brilliant midfielder who makes our team play a whole lot better due to his energy, skill and sheer passion to win.
I’d like to think that the fact he loves this club means he’ll eventually opt to stay at the Theatre of Dreams, but United must match his ambition. We need to start winning trophies while also ensuring we finish in the top four so he can play Champions League football next term.
