Tottenham Hotspur star Eric Dier wanted to move to Manchester United this summer, according to a rather odd Instagram live video by Dele Alli that was filmed on international duty. That’s according to the excellent website The Peoples Person.
The report says that Dier jokingly called Kyle Walker a traitor for leaving Spurs, but the right-back responded: “no-one called you (Dier) a traitor when you wanted to go to United.”

Dier, 24, was linked with a Manchester United move over the summer, but in the end nothing came of it and the Englishman remained at Spurs – where he will stay until January at the very least.
As we all know, the Red Devils settled on a deal for Nemanja Matic who has made an excellent start to life at the Theatre of Dreams.
In my opinion, there was never going to be space within the squad for both Dier and Matic and Mourinho took the executive decision to opt for the player who he has worked with previously; which makes a lot of sense.
It just seems rather odd that this all came about on social media. Things got a bit awkward on the live video, but in the end, they both hugged and made up…
