Paris Saint-Germain has apparently withdrawn their interest in signing Manchester United centre-back Marcos Rojo, according to ESPN per The Metro.
Earlier on in the week, news emerged suggesting that the Ligue 1 giants were readying a huge £30milion move for the Argentina star, but now it seems as though they’ve pulled the plug on any potential deal.
The former Sporting Lisbon has failed to hold down a place within Jose Mourinho’s team this term, largely due to injury. However, I personally still feel that Rojo, alongside Eric Bailly, is United’s best centre-back pairing; at least for the time being.
When you’ve got the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones within the current squad, it’d be criminal to let Rojo leave, whatever the amount of money being offered. At least the 27-year-old has a brain on his shoulders, whereas the English duo just look absolutely clueless at times.
With that said, don’t be surprised to see the Red Devils move for at least one new centre-back. The defence, along with the midfield, have caused the Old Trafford club real problems at times this season and it’s an issue that badly needs addressing.
