Manchester United got back to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend, and moved up to fifth in the table, albeit temporary depending on the Arsenal score tonight. However, it was nice to see us get another three points under our belts, as top four hopes are hanging on by a thread.
The result was a pretty convincing one against Sunderland with Jose Mourinho’s side beating the Black Cats 3-0. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford found the back of the net, with the other goal coming from Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Now Jamie Redknapp has been analysing the performance of the Armenia international, and he’s quite obviously a big fan of our summer signing. Redknapp claims that Mkhitaryan gives United that bit of magic, which is most definitely true.
“I do believe that when he gets on the ball he gives Man Utd that little bit of stardust.” Redknapp is quoted as saying by Sky Sports, quoted by Squawka.
When we announced the signing of Mkhitaryan I was absolutely ecstatic. As a big fan of the Bundesliga, I’ve watched him play quite a bit over the years and he is just an outstanding footballer.
He has bags of pace, doesn’t give the opponents a second on the ball and the way he’s so direct when in possession is his biggest selling point. It’s quite clear as to why he’s becoming a real fan favourite here, and it was brilliant to see him get himself on the scoresheet.
Hopefully, this is the start of a real strong end to the season for him, because we need all of our main stars to be hitting their top gear right about now – particularly as we still have hopes of winning the Europa League.
