Pundit singles out one Manchester United player for ‘outstanding’ display vs Burnley

Manchester United got back to winning ways against Burnley at the weekend, as the pressure on Jose Mourinho’s shoulder was somewhat eased.

Both goals in that game came from Romelu Lukaku, with the big Belgium international striking twice in the first-half to put the game away for the visitors.

It was a real complete performance from the former Everton man, one that we need to see more often if we’re to challenge for major honours this season.

Former West Ham man, Shaka Hislop, was full of praise for Lukaku following the victory, as the ex-shot-stopper singled out United’s #9 after his display.

“It’s right to pay credit to Romelu Lukaku, I thought he was simply outstanding throughout.” Hislop is quoted as saying by the Daily Express.

“Back to goal, running onto through balls from Alexis Sanchez.

“Everything was on point. Long may it continue, that’s all everyone wants.”

It’s true, Lukaku was excellent, but at times, he was pretty awful, too… On another day he could have had another three goals. In those top-of-the-table match-ups, those are chances that he simply cannot afford to miss.

Personally, I don’t think he’s anywhere near to full fitness at this point in time, which means he can only improve. What I was particularly impressed with was Lukaku’s all-round game.

He was great in the air, held the ball up well and picked the right pass more often than not. A real front-man.
