Pundit: This Man United man will step up against Anderlecht to prove he is the main man

Manchester United secured an absolutely huge result over the weekend, as the Red Devils put Chelsea to the sword in convincing fashion. Mourinho’s side won that game 2-0 with Marcus Rashford having an absolute blinder.

Now attentions have turned back to the Europa League and one man in particular; Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has said that the 35-year-old will come out with a point to prove, following the aforementioned display by Marcus Rashford over the weekend.

“Anderlecht will have to come out and play and I just think that man Zlatan will step up for them and prove he is the main man after watching Marcus Rashford take the plaudits at the weekend,” The Daily Star quote Nicholas as telling Sky Sports.

“They’ve got a big group and they’re obviously not all players Jose likes, but he got it bang on with his changes on Sunday and he’ll be able to bring a fresh Zlatan Ibrahimovic back in.”

Honestly, it’d just be typical Ibrahimovic to come back into the mix and score the winner against Anderlecht. He loves to be top dog and assert his dominance, and I fully expect him to do exactly that.

The tie against the Belgian side is finely poised at 1-1 and it literally could go either way. However, we have home-field advantage coupled with that crucial away goal, so you have to fancy us to go out and get a positive result.

We have to remember that Zlatan will be feeling nice and refreshed after getting a rest at the weekend, and he’ll be desperate to get him and his teammates to a semi-final of a major European competition.

Will we do it? I think so. As long as we play reasonably well at the very least, we should have more than enough firepower to grab a goal or two whilst keeping it tight at the back.
