Real Madrid eyeing January move for key Man United man as Isco replacement: report

With the January transfer window just on the horizon, media outlets will be going into overdrive in terms of players who’ll potentially be on the move.

Now, according to a report from El Gol Digital, translated by the Manchester Evening News, is claiming that Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari, is attempting to sign Juan Mata when the winter window opens.

Apparently, Los Blancos are ‘demanding’ that a move for Mata happens, as he’ll bring some experience to a world-class outfit that are struggling at the moment.

The report also adds that Mata is quietly unhappy at his lack of playing time this term, although he did star in the Red Devils’ 4-1 victory at home to Fulham this weekend.

As for Mata, if the right offer came in, would you really blame him if he moved to the Santiago Bernabeu? We’re talking about the biggest club in his homeland, and returning back there, to be closer to his family, must certainly be something he’d heavily consider.

From a United standpoint, I wouldn’t keep him around if Mourinho isn’t planning on playing him regularly. He deserves week-in-week-out football, and although I’m not sure he’ll get that at Madrid, you just never know…
