Alexis Sanchez missed Manchester United’s showdown clash with Juventus at Old Trafford last night. Although it was Jose Mourinho who confirmed the news, the self-proclaimed Special One didn’t go into details as to why.
Now, injury expert Ben Dinnery has provided us all an update, and he believes that the Chile international was missing with an adductor problem, as he cites a Chilean journalist on the matter.
Sanchez has had a slow start to the season, largely due to the fact that he’s been picking up niggling problems that has meant he hasn’t been anywhere near 100% fitness. It’s disappointing because he had an excellent pre-season tour and I really felt that the ex-Arsenal man would set the Premier League alight this term.

Now we’re not sure how long he’ll be out for, but the sooner Sanchez comes back, the better. Our attack looks toothless at the moment and we’re struggling massively. Sanchez scored the last-minute winner against Newcastle United just before the international break, he could give us that spark we need.
If anything, Sanchez back in the mix would give Romelu Lukaku a break. The Belgian has also been struggling of late, but Mourinho doesn’t have the quality-in-depth to sit the 25-year-old down for a game or two – hence why he’s trying to make Lukaku play through it.
