Manchester United Football Club have made some astute signings so far this summer, with Jose Mourinho sanctioning big-money moves to land Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof. However, the hunt for more incoming transfers goes on.
One name that the self-proclaimed Special One has expressed interest in is Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale. The Welshman is one of the best players in the world on his day, and he’d significantly improve any team in world football.
Now, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has given his take on any potential move, and he reckons that United should be handed the trophy now if Bale makes a Premier League return in the Red of Manchester United.
“If it did (happen) I think you should just give Manchester United the trophy now,” Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
“It won’t be to do with anyone else because Gareth Bale is that good. He would rip the Premier League apart if he came here.”
“I think the way that he plays – in that team – he would be sensational. There are only a few players that can do what he can.”
“He is sensational. He is made for the Premier League.”
This is a signing that would send out a message to the rest of the Premier League. Despite the fact that we finished outside of the top four last season, the lure of the Theatre of Dreams is still the biggest in the country. Bale simply has to be tempted by that, particularly if he isn’t playing for Los Blancos every single week.
United must do all they can to at least try and convince the left-winger to come to Old Trafford this summer, because he would bring so much quality to an already stacked attacking line.
However, it’s pretty obvious that the Red Devils would face massive competition for his signature. He’s one of the best in the business, who wouldn’t want him playing for their team?
