Reliable journalist claims Manchester United haven’t bid for Otamendi

Manchester United were thought to have made a move for Nicolas Otamendi earlier on today, as Guillem Balague had said that a bid of around £27million had been made and then rejected by Valencia CF. Otemendi, 26, has been in fine form for his club this season so far.

As of right now it looks unlikely that this deal will go through in this window. Valencia have no real reason to sell Otamendi as their financial situation is looking a whole lot securer under Peter Lim.

If they really want Otamendi to come to the club during this window, then they’d have to pay way more than his actual value in an attempt to persuade Valencia into parting with their star man.

There are far better options out there in world football, but as we all know January is a tricky window to bring in the best players. We should stick with what we have now, consolidate a spot in the tops our and go for the worlds best centre-backs in the upcoming summer window.
