Manchester United and Louis van Gaal seemed like a match made in heaven when the deal was made almost two years ago now, but sadly it hasn’t quite worked out so far. Many fans reckon the Dutchman will be sacked this summer, but that may not be the case.
According to the usually reliable Guillem Balague, Manchester United have no intention of parting with the Dutchman at the moment, and they plan to keep him in charge next season.
There certainly is a case for him to stay if Manchester United finish int he top four and lift the FA Cup, but that has to be an absolute minimum for the Iron Tulip.
His willingness to promote youth is probably his biggest asset at the moment, and Marcus Rashford in particular is repaying a lot of that faith shown in him. There has also been impressive displays by Tim Fosu-Mensah and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
