Manchester United Football Club are having somewhat of a mixed debut season under Jose Mourinho, with the self-proclaimed Special One delivering one trophy as well as being well in the hunt for another, but, they are struggling in the Premier League.
One way of trying to change that is by making big moves in the transfer market, and there have already been some big names linked. Just before the turn of the year, Antoine Griezmann was reportedly a target for Manchester United, and that rumour simply hasn’t gone away since then.
Now, the 26-year-old has been speaking to the media about the links, and it’s pretty obvious that he’s growing in frustration with constantly answering the same question about his future.
“I don’t know what to say – it’s always the same questions,” he told the media on Thursday, as per Goal.
“I’ve said it so many times, I’ve done a lot of front covers saying that I see myself here. I’ve already answered, I’m not going to do so again.
“I’m not fed up with it – but I nearly am.”
At the end of the day, it must be so annoying for him. Nobody seems to care about the fact that he is playing some supremely good football for Atletico Madrid, but all the journalists want to discuss is the fact that Manchester United are interested in him.
It must be so distracting from the matter at hand, but that’s just the nature of the modern-day journalist. Transfers that are as monumental as these (particularly ones that involve United) seem to draw much more attention for some odd reason. Just let the lad play his football, and if the clubs and Griezmann can come to an agreement, happy days. If not, Mourinho will move onto his next target. Simple!
