Reported Man United transfer target backs Fred to succeed at Old Trafford

Manchester United Football Club have announced that a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred is in the offing, with Jose Mourinho looking to mould the playing squad into one that fits his style.

The 25-year-old will now jet off to Russia to take part in the World Cup with his native Brazil, and us United fans will be keeping a close eye on how he gets on in the Far East.

One man who is backing Fred to hit the ground running when he plays in the Premier League is Chelsea winger Willian. The winger, 29, has also been linked with a Red Devils move, and he spoke glowingly about his international colleague.

Willian was asked about whether Fred will do well in England, he responded, per the Daily Mirror:

“Of course, no doubt, no doubt about that.

“He has a lot of quality, he can improve a lot.

“He goes to one of the best teams in the world and I’m happy for him.

“I hope he does well at Manchester United.”

I’m excited about watching Fred in action. His style seems perfect for English football, and in a trio alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic, we certainly could have something special on our hands.

It may take Fred some time to adapt to Mourinho’s tactics and style of play, but hopefully, by the end of his first season in Manchester, we’ll have an absolute world-beater on our hands.
