Rio Ferdinand believes fan favourite and his former teammate is on his way back to Manchester United

Manchester United Football Club are certainly finding their identity once again, as Jose Mourinho implements his style and tactics on the squad. The self-proclaimed Special One has made some hugely important transfers, and he always gets the team selection more or less perfect.

With the January transfer window rapidly approaching, it’s normal that pretty much every name under the sun has been linked with a move to Manchester United. However, one player in particular has been mentioned, and that caused quite a stir.

Rio Ferdinand took to his Instagram account to post a photo of himself alongside Patrice Evra, who he believes could well be heading back to the Theatre of Dreams – although he doesn’t say in what role.

The United centre-back fuelled the fire further, as alongside the picture he posted, he said:

“I’m hearing thru social media u coming home bro?!? Talk to me! 👀”

At the end of the day, the French left-back looked absolutely finished at the highest level when he left the club a couple of seasons ago. Credit to him, he’s made a real go out of it with Juventus, and he even has some silverware to show for it.

Honestly, I’d love to see him back as a coach or something like that, but perhaps our heart is ruling our head a little too much if we believe he’s still got enough ability to play as our left-back in the Premier League.
