Manchester United’s biggest game of the season thus far ended in disappointment, as the Red Devils were well beaten at home by Manchester City.
It’s fair to say it wasn’t a good outing for the majority, but one player, in particular, had an absolute nightmare of a fixture.
We’re talking about Romelu Lukaku. From start to finish it was an absolute horror show for the star striker, and Rio Ferdinand summed up the 24-year-old’s day brilliantly with one single Tweet.
Not a good day for Rom….involved in 2 goals conceded n misses a chance he should score….the way Utd played 2day makes it hard for any Striker up there. Needs runners closer to him to see any joy.. #MCFC suffocated #mufc today.. put into a sleeper hold from minute 1!!

The fact that he practically gifted City two goals was bad enough, but when he missed that huge chance to level things up late on, you just knew luck wasn’t on his side.
I think Lukaku needs some time away from the starting XI. His last few games haven’t been great, and maybe, he just needs to reignite that fire in his belly that he’ll receive from being dropped.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic isn’t a bad option to have. To be honest, the pair are similar players, so it makes perfect sense to utilise the man who is in form, while dropping the guy who’s struggling.
