Robin van Persie drops hint regarding Manchester United transfers

Manchester United’s incoming manager Louis van Gaal led Holland to a 3-0 thumping of Brazil last night, in which Robin van Persie scored from the penalty spot. The game was another disappointment for the hosts Brazil, but The Oranje got their tactics spot on, and ran out comfortable winners.

Nobody expected the Netherlands to get as far as they did with the squad of players they had at their disposal, and the fact that they managed to overcome the hosts and pre-tournament favourites in such a convincing manner was great to see.

Van Gaal showed great tactical ability to change the formation when things weren’t going his way, and his substitutions made an impact more often than not. He knows the game inside out.

Robin van Persie also had an excellent tournament – scoring four goals in the six games he played in. After the game last night, the captain admitted that he knows a bit more about Manchester United’s transfers than we do.

Van Persie said: “I’ll admit that I know a little bit more than you sometimes, but I can’t say anything!”

The chances are if Robin van Persie knows something, it probably means one or more of the Dutch squad could be Old Trafford bound in the not too distant future. Now that they’re out of the World Cup, we should hear something sooner rather than later.
