Romelu Lukaku ‘likely’ to leave Man United this summer: report

Last night, we covered some quotes from Romelu Lukaku in which he strongly hinted at a Manchester United exit during this window.

Well, in a follow-up to that, the Daily Telegraph state that the 26-year-old star is reluctant to play a back-up role to Marcus Rashford, while they claim in their title that Lukaku is ‘likely’ to leave the Theatre of Dreams this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has apparently made it clear that the aforementioned Rashford is the first-choice forward, with Lukaku ‘wary’ of reduced playing time as he enters his peak years.

New Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is ‘determined’ to take Lukaku to the Serie A after missing out on his signature during his time as Chelsea manager back in 2017…

United, though, aren’t willing to lose Lukaku cheaply, with the Old Trafford club looking to recoup the full £80million investment they made on the Belgian when acquiring him from Everton…

I feel as though the ball is in United’s court and they aren’t really under pressure to sell if they don’t want to. However, if the price is right, I do see Solskjaer cashing in and buying someone who would be content in playing second-fiddle to Rashford.

Lukaku has scored 42 goals in two seasons at United but he’s never fully won over the fans. That’s largely due to his inability to control a football and the fact that perhaps sometimes he doesn’t work hard enough. That’s just his style, though and it isn’t changing anytime soon…
