Manchester United Football Club could be looking for a new permanent manager this summer, with the hearts of many fans saying promoting Ryan Giggs could be the way to go. However, his friend and former teammate Teddy Sheringham, has urged him to leave.
“I think Giggs should go off and manage another football team. You only really learn if you’re in the hot-seat.” Sheringham said.
This is coming from a man who has recently experienced management first hand. The 49-year old took the Stevenage job at the start of this season, and realised just how difficult it is, facing the sack this February with just a 20% win ratio.
There is nothing like being thrown in at the deep end like Sheringham was, and although Ryan Giggs has had a handful of games as manager of Manchester United, he certainly needs to prove himself in a full-time role before he has any hope of landing the job at Old Trafford.
