Schmeichel: Moyes is a great choice

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has publicly given his backing to David Moyes in an recent interview with Sky Sports News. The 50-year old claimed that Moyes is the right man for the job, and also added that Manchester United are in for a busy summer transfer window.

“I think David is a great choice,” he told Sky Sports.

“He’s shown he’s got the pedigree, he’s got the ability, he can stay in a place for a very long time – he showed that at Everton.

“At United, we want our managers to stay a long time but this year has been really tough on him.” Schmeichel added.

“He’ll learn a lot about himself, everyone will learn a lot about him and he will come out a lot stronger.”

“I think he needs to sign a few players – how many I don’t know!”

“But I think, equally important, he needs to offload a lot of players. There’s a lot of players there I’m very disappointed with.

“To be a Manchester United player, that carries a responsibility. You fight, never give in, even on days when it’s not happening for you, you still have to try.”

Its nice to see The Great Dane giving his backing to Moyes at a time where the Manchester United boss is having a tough time of it at the moment, and any backing received from club legends like Schmeichel can only be a good thing.

The ex-goalkeeper is certainly spot on about the amount of incomings and outgoings too, this summer will without doubt be one of the biggest in over 20 years and the management team must get this one spot on.

Peter Schmeichel is an MU legend and we must respect his views.. but. .
    but… but… he claims
Moyes has shown- he has got the pedigree ? ?
he has got the ability ? ?
he can stay in a place a very long time ?
One out of three isn’t too bad except we need a tactically adept motivational manager who can deliver entertaining positive flowing football to the OT pitch ….we do not need a possum who can play dead !
