Manchester United Football Club’s attentions will solely be on the opening Premier League game of the season on Sunday. After the UEFA Super Cup, we’ve been given a good idea as to how we’ll probably set up against The Hammers when they visit Old Trafford.
In the wake of the aforementioned game on Tuesday, Paul Scholes has been airing his feelings on BT Sport. The former midfield maestro reckons that Jose Mourinho should start both Marouane Fellaini and Marcus Rashford against West Ham; as they made a big impact from off of the bench.
To me, both of these guys made a massive impact on the match, and to their credit, the pair grabbed their opportunity with both hands; particularly Marouane Fellaini. When he came on for Ander Herrera, the whole dynamic of the match changed and we actually looked quite threatening.
However, for all the good work the Belgian did, I just don’t see Mourinho dropping Herrera for him because the Basque had one off-day.
As for Rashford, I can certainly see the young man from Wythenshawe getting a start. For whatever reason, the manager doesn’t seem to trust Anthony Martial, and Jesse Lingard didn’t have the best of afternoons before being hooked at half-time.
