Scholes set to play last game for United

Paul Scholes is sadly set to go back into retirement for the second time in almost three years at the end of the current campaign, and what a top player he has been for us. When he was named as a substitute at the Etihad last season it gave all the lads a lift and it was absolutely brilliant to have him back.

This season hasn’t turned out great for Paul though, missing the last few months due to injury. However its great that he’s back in time for Sir Alex’s last home game today, with the midfielder set to start as he bows out from the game for certain this time.

Paul Scholes said:

“Yes, I am finally hanging up my boots for good! Playing football is all I have ever wanted to do, and so to have had such a long and successful career at Manchester United, under the greatest manager of all time, has been an honour. The team has the right balance and will continue to thrive under the leadership of David Moyes.”

Best of luck, Scholsie!
