Manchester United Football Club take on Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday – in a game that’ll see the return of a familiar face…
A certain Jose Mourinho comes back to Old Trafford for the first time as a manager since his sacking by the Red Devils. No doubt he’ll head North with a point to prove.
Anyway ahead of the game, United have been given an injury boost, with 22-year-old midfielder Scott McTominay is ‘expected to be fit enough’ to play vs Spurs in a couple of days’ time. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News.
McTominay has missed the last few games with an ankle problem, but the fact that he’s now well enough to play is a massive confidence lift for a dressing room that was in dire need of one.
The Scot’s form this season has been pretty special. He’s been the only driving force we’ve had from midfield and matches were much tougher without him.
However, I just hope that United aren’t rushing McTominay back. If he takes to the field prematurely and re-injures the ankle, he’d be sidelined for longer – which would be disastrous during the hectic winter period.
Hopefully, McTominay is feeling good because his passion and leadership could well be key against an in-form Spurs side.
