Sergio Ramos admits father is Man Utd fan amidst speculation

Manchester United have recently been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, with the club set to make a straight swap offer involving David de Gea to try and sign the Spanish centre-half.

Amidst that speculation, news has come out regarding Sergio Ramos’ dad, who seems to be an avid follower of Manchester United.

Sergio Ramos on his dad in 2013: “United. My family are Sevilla fans but he always had a soft spot for Manchester United.”

These quotes are interesting. Family usually can play a big part in where a player ends up, and if Ramos is to leave Real Madrid then his dad in particular will certainly be pushing for a move to Old Trafford.

At the end of the day though, the decision ultimately lies in the 29-year old’s hands, but what is clear is the interest from Manchester United and Louis van Gaal is real, and if he wants to move away from the Bernabeu, the Old Trafford doors are wide open for him.

  1. Great defender but horrible temper. Saying that hes a brilliant leader for the back line so it’s a must buy to me for under £25 million (total fee) though
