The Premier League season is now less than a week away. The Reds have made just one signing. Now though, Sergio Reguilon has apparently been offered to Man United…
Links to the left-back have grown over the last week or so, with Real Madrid seemingly willing to let the superstar Spaniard leave the Santiago Bernabeu – at least in some capacity.
Now, the brilliant Fabrizio Romano has given his take on the Reguilon rumours…
Apparently, the emerging 23-year-old, who enjoyed a stellar breakout season with Sevilla, has been offered to United. At this stage, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ‘considering’ Reguilon as an option, with the Reds set to make their decision on the potential signing ‘soon’.
United wouldn’t have it all their own way, though. Sevilla are also keen on taking the Spaniard on loan for another season, which could pose a problem of the 20-time Premier League champions don’t act quickly.
Check out Fabrizio Romano’s tweet here:
Reguilon being offered to Man United is definitely interesting. Real Madrid are well-stacked in that left-back slot at this point. Both Marcelo and Ferland Mendy are ahead in the pecking order at this point.
As for United, signing Reguilon would improve the starting line-up, though one of Luke Shaw or Brandon Williams would suffer.
Personally, I see Williams’ future as a right-back, while Shaw’s injury woes mean United should definitely explore the addition of Reguilon keenly.
For anyone who watched the Europa League semi-final, Reguilon was brilliant, bombing up and down that left-hand side all game. He gave Mason Greenwood and Aaron Wan-Bissaka absolute fits while picking up an assist and a Man of the Match award…
The big-game ability is there, while Reguilon likely wouldn’t be too expensive. He’s seemingly available and easily accessible. It’d be a stunning piece of business if United can get it done.
