Sir Alex Ferguson reveals reason why Man Utd have been struggling at times

Manchester United’s rough spell has been ongoing since Sir Alex Ferguson walked away from Old Trafford, but the influential Scot hasn’t stopped supporting the team he loves. Now he has given his backing to Louis van Gaal, and says the Dutchman has done well considering the amount of injuries protruding through the squad.

“It’s easy to be critical. There are plenty of critics of Man Utd who are doing well, but you have to be realistic.” Sir Alex Ferguson said. “Look at the number of injuries. Also there are 5 new players, 2 of them young, who have come from 4 different leagues.”

“You have to have patience. For 150 years of history it’s worth having a couple on the quiet side of success.”

Its easy to point the fingers on injuries, but every club goes through these kind of phases where several key figures are out of action; thats just the nature of the business.

Louis van Gaal has done extremely well all things considered, and has largely had to rely on youth, who have all stepped up to the mark when called upon. Particularly Marcus Rashford, who has been a privilege to watch over the last month or so.
