Sky: Jadon Sancho expected to leave Dortmund this summer, Man United interested: report

Just last night, we covered a story from the Daily Mirror, which claimed that Manchester United were ‘determined’ to beat Chelsea to the race to sign Jadon Sancho.

I think we all expected this transfer story to ramp up in intensity before the summer, but not this early. Anyway today, Sky Sports News, in collaboration with their German branch, a running a huge Sancho story.

They’re claiming that the superstar 19-year-old is expected to leave his current club, Borussia Dortmund this summer. Furthermore, United are ‘keen’ to take the England international to Old Trafford.

Sancho has been simply sensational since switching Manchester City for the Westfalonstadion, with the teenager seeing his stock rise through the roof over the last couple of years.

Chelsea’s interest in him has been widely reported, though their confidence in signing Hakim Ziyech could play right into United’s hands. I guess the other major problem is Manchester City. I’d be massively surprised if they don’t have some sort of first refusal or buyback clause in Sancho’s contract. Plus, they’ll definitely have Champions League football on the table next term. I’m not quite sure we’d be able to offer that…

Either way, the Reds would probably have to part with somewhere around the £100million mark to bring Sancho in. They definitely have it, particularly if Paul Pogba is sold – and what a stunning piece of business this would be.
