Manchester United are yet to strengthen a central-defence that shipped 54 league goals in the 2017/18 campaign. But it’s not for the want of trying…

Defensive names aplenty have been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to try and get a deal done. United will not be forced into overpaying, though, that much has become pretty clear (to me anyway)…

One name that just will not go away is Harry Maguire. He has been rumoured with a potential switch to the Red half of Manchester for well over a month now. Today, that continues.

For me, Maguire is the one. United need to pay whatever it takes because he’d be a huge upgrade on what we have in a key area of the field. Let’s be honest, the club has neglected that position for far too long, so spend big and give Solskjaer the man he really wants…
