Manchester United’s transfer window has been pretty appalling. It feels as though we’ve been linked with every centre-back under the sun. Yet, with three days left to go until it slams shut, the Red Devils are without a new centre-half signing.
That’s where Harry Maguire comes in. Previously, he’d been linked with an Old Trafford move, then things cooled down. Now, according to Sky Sports News’ sources, the Old Trafford club haven’t given up on signing the 25-year-old, with another bid believed to be going in over the next 96 hours.

Maguire had a fantastic World Cup as his stock amongst the global game continued to rise. However, understandably, Leicester want to keep ahold of their man. Should the right offer go in, they may find it difficult.
The club will have to decide upon an obtainable target and act quickly. Hopefully, we hear something in the way of progression over the next day or so, because when there are such colossal figures involved, these things can take time.
For Edward Woodward, it’s sink or swim. He has to deliver Mourinho a centre-back that he can work with. Maguire would be great, as would Toby Alderweireld. At this point, I honestly don’t care, just as long as we’ve got a new defender we can rely upon come midnight Thursday.
