Manchester United’s interest in Ivan Perisic really did come out of nowhere. The Red Devils will be after bolstering their squad in the attacking third of the pitch, as that was the area where we lacked any real cutting edge in the Premier League, by failing to convert draws into victories.
The 28-year-old Croatian has been linked with a move to Manchester United by Sky Sports, with Chelsea also interested. Now their reporter Kaveh Solhekol has offered another update on the situation.
He has taken to Twitter to give us the latest from Italy, claiming that although Chelsea are also interested, the player has his heart set on a move to Manchester United.
Latest from Italy on Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic – Chelsea interested but he wants to move to Manchester United

At this point in time, it looks like there are a lot of T’s to be crossed and I’s to be dotted, and it may well be quite some time before we hear anything concrete.
However, it says an awful lot about just how big of a club Manchester United are, as Chelsea won the league at a canter just a fortnight ago yet the player is seemingly intent on a move to the Theatre of Dreams rather than Stamford Bridge.
In terms of a typical Jose Mourinho signing, I don’t think it gets any better than Ivan Perisic. He works hard on both sides of the ball, can create something out of absolutely nothing and is versatile. It may not be the marquee signing that some have been craving, but it’d be an astute piece of business if we could pull it off.
