Manchester United Football Club have been constantly linked with a move for Harry Maguire this summer. With the club now back from their pre-season tour in the Far East, us fans had hoped the transfer may now pick up the pace.
Well, it certainly seems as though Maguire is doing his part. According to Sky Sports News, the 26-year-old missed training today amid interest from United, with the centre-half telling Leicester City he wants to leave this summer – before next month’s August 8th deadline.
The Foxes will not let Maguire leave unless their £80million demand is met, so far, United’s highest offer falls £10m short of Leicester’s current valuation…
According to Sky Sources, it’s now up to Edward Woodward to get the deal done, so what are United waiting for?
This is a real ‘come and get me’ plea from Maguire and now it’s down to the Old Trafford outfit to do their part and make the deal happen. For what it’s worth, I firmly believe Slabhead will make the move to the Red half of Manchester before the transfer window ends, it’s just United are trying to sign him for as cheaply as possible (which obviously makes sense).
For me, it’s now a case of if rather than when. Hopefully, it’s before this weekend’s game against AC Milan so Maguire can get at least one game in with his new teammates.
