Manchester United are hopeful of securing a deal for Ivan Perisic quickly, according to Sky Sports News. The report claims that the Red Devils have stepped up their interest in the 28-year-old, and are intent on getting a deal done before Inter Milan fly out to China next week.

The left-winger has apparently linked up with the rest of the Inter squad for pre-season training, but their tour doesn’t officially leave Italy until a week from now.

Sky Sports say that Jose Mourinho and his club are getting closer to sealing a deal from the Croatia star, with their last offer coming in at around £39million. Although Milan are asking for around £48million, the report claims that a deal could be done at around the £45million mark.

At first, I wasn’t excited about the thought of signing Perisic but it is fair to say I’ve changed my mind. When you look at our squad, we have no real width in it, and all of our wingers like to cut inside.

Bringing in the left-footer would drastically change that as he likes to hug the touchline and whip ferocious crosses into the box. You feel that’s something we lacked at times last season, and Romelu Lukaku will feed off balls like that.
