Sky Sports: Manchester United approach Bayern Munich, trying to sign world-class star, player open to move

Manchester United Football Club are seemingly going through every centre-half in world football this summer. The latest man to be linked with an Old Trafford move? FC Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng.

That’s according to Sky Sports News Germany, with the report claiming that the Red Devils have approached the Bavarian giants about the possibility of signing the 29-year-old before Thursday’s deadline.

Munich will demand around £45million to let the Germany international leave this summer, which is relatively cheap given the illustrious career Boateng has had. Apparently, Boateng is open to an Old Trafford switch this summer.

It seems as though Boateng has unfinished business in England. Don’t forget, he struggled to fit in at Manchester City, before they shipped him off prematurely. Since then, he has gone from strength-to-strength.

In terms of his fit at United, he’d walk straight into the starting line-up. We’re talking about one of the best defenders on planet earth. He’d take command of our young defensive line, turning them into a bunch that play with confidence. It’s that veteran presence that we’ve been lacking. From day one, we’d be far more solid back there.

Edward Woodward will have to act extremely quickly to get the deal done, though, time is running out…
