Manchester United are confident of signing Alexis Sanchez in the January window, according to Sky Sports News.
Sky Sources say that the Red Devils are in pole position to sign the 29-year-old, with Jose Mourinho’s team beating Manchester City to Sanchez’s signature.
Apparently, United are set to offer Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of any deal as somewhat of a sweetener, which obviously means that Arsenal will have a direct replacement due to the like-for-like switch.
What an absolutely sensational signing this would be if United could somehow pull this off. In my opinion, it looked for all the world that Sanchez was City-bound, but Mourinho has clearly never given up on the situation, and now we’re favourites to sign the world-class Chilean.
I’ve felt that we’re one marquee attacker shy of competing both domestically and in Europe, and the Premier League-proven Sanchez could well turn us into a side capable of winning some huge trophies in the not too distant future.
This is a guy who can play as a striker or on either wing, and United’s dynamic attack will suit Sanchez perfectly as he’ll be allowed to drift all over the field and do what he does best – create chances and score goals. I, for one, am excited.
