Manchester United head to Seville tomorrow evening, as their Champions League knockout stage campaign gets underway.
Ahead of the match, Sky Sports News’ Charlie Nicholas has been predicting results, and he’s gone for a 2-1 victory to Sevilla in what’s expected to be a closely contested game.
Nicholas is expecting Paul Pogba to come back into the side, but he explains that Alexis Sanchez has disrupted the rhythm and flow of the squad, pushing Anthony Martial over to the right with Marcus Rashford dropping out altogether.
He also points out that the hosts have been a mixed bag this season, but on their day, they’re more than capable of going toe-to-toe with the best sides in Europe.
Nobody thinks it’s going to be easy for Manchester United, but I feel Jose Mourinho’s men are more than capable of grinding out a result.
These are the kind of games, particularly in Europe, where we’ve seen a Mourinho team keep it tight in the away leg and pull through at home. I don’t expect the Red Devils to go out and attack Sevilla with everything they’ve got, instead, they’ll probably play a counter-attacking style and try to hit their opponents on the break.
