Manchester United are undergoing a major Jose Mourinho transformation at the moment, with the self-proclaimed Special One seemingly prepare to trim the squad, after bringing in three new faces.
That’s according to Sky Sports News, who in their transfer blog, reckon the club are ready to let both Guillermo Varela and Tyler Blackett leave during this window.
Tyler Blackett was one of the breakthrough stars during Louis van Gaal’s debut season, as he really imposed himself on the Manchester United defence, and earned plenty of praise during those twelve months.
Guillermo Varela’s debut came this season, and although he has done very well at times, that inexperience has shown. Personally, I feel it is way too premature to let the Uruguayan go as he offered excellent cover in that right-back slot.
However, Jose Mourinho will want to bring in players that fit his style, and if these two don’t fill that void, then there is no room for them.
