Ivan Perisic wants to move to Manchester United this summer, Sky Sports News claim. Their sources claim that the agent of the player met Inter Milan on Wednesday, with a deal for the Croatia international getting closer, which is obviously good news for the Red Devils.
The Serie A side are apparently sticking to their guns regarding their £48million asking price, with United’s most recent offer coming in at £39million which is clearly some way short at the moment.
However, to read that a deal is getting closer tells us that things are heading in the right direction. Milan head to China for their pre-season tour on Tuesday, and you’d imagine that all parties would like a deal done before that date.
At first, I was a little sceptical at the thought of signing Perisic, but the more you look at him, the more he looks like a proper Manchester United player.
This is a guy who hugs the touchline and whips ferocious balls into the box. He also works tirelessly on the defensive side of things which Mourinho will love.
In the modern market, you can expect to pay in excess of £40-45million for a player of his calibre, so if United want him badly enough, they’ll have to shell out as Inter just don’t look like budging.
