Solskjaer confirms Eric Bailly injury concern after Ivorian picks up knock

Manchester United Football Club slumped to a 1-1 draw against Club Brugge on Thursday night, as Ole Gunnar Solskajer rung the changes from the team that battered Chelsea just a few days prior.

Amongst those who were missing was Eric Bailly. Understandably, Solskjaer chose to rest the Ivorian – or so we thought…

Before kick-off yesterday, Solskjaer confirmed yet another key United injury concern, as the 25-year-old picked up a ‘knock’ against Chelsea – just a few days before the huge Watford Premier League clash.

“Eric [Bailly] got a knock against Chelsea so he wasn’t able to play today.” Solskjaer is quoted as telling BT Sport live on air, per The Guardian on their live-blog (timestamped 17:28).

I guess the good news is that Bailly was fit enough to make the bench, though I’d doubt he probably wasn’t ready to play even if called upon.

It’s made all-the-more worrying because injuries have been the story of Bailly’s Red Devils career. After a simply stunning debut campaign, the now 25-year-old has spent far too long sidelined. The last thing United want to do is rush him into too much action too quickly, as that would only make matters worse.

He was simply sublime against Chelsea. Here’s to hoping that he’s feeling good this morning and ready to take on Watford if he’s 100% fit. If not, don’t risk it and stick with Victor Lindelof…
