Squad news: Manchester United’s 18-man squad for Anderlecht game tonight

Manchester United Football Club will be looking to secure a huge victory tonight, with Jose Mourinho’s side hoping to book a place in the Europa League semi-finals. Now, via the Manchester Evening News, we have the confirmed 18-man squad that’ll head to Old Trafford this evening.

Squad news in full:

David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcus Rashford.

It’s great to see skipper Wayne Rooney back after missing the last few matches with an injury. There is also a spot in the squad for youngster Joel Pereira which is nice.

As expected, the big names are all involved, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all ready to go after being rested for the Chelsea game over the weekend.

Michael Carrick was another one who I’d love to see come back into the game, just to bring that bit of vital experience and composure. Luke Shaw will be praying to see his name in the line-up as he hasn’t played that much recently, and the same can be said for Anthony Martial.

At the end of the day, whoever goes out there to play, we should have more than enough to overcome Anderlecht. A nice early go would be a brilliant way to settle the nerves, and here is to hoping that we’re celebrating a spot in the semi-finals come 10pm this evening!
