Superstar Man United duo withdraw from national duty due to injuries: report

In the wake of Manchester derby defeat, morale will undoubtedly be feeling low at Old Trafford. Manchester United were truly outclassed, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time, either…

We’re now set to fester on that performance and result for two weeks thanks to the international break. However, two key players won’t be playing for their country, after pulling out with injuries… According to the Manchester Evening News, both Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba have withdrawn from France duty – despite the fact that they met up with the rest of the squad in Clairefontaine on Monday afternoon.

Perhaps we should have saw Pogba’s withdrawal coming. The midfielder missed the derby as he was nursing a problem that he picked up during the game against Juventus, but the fact that he did, in fact, head off to his homeland tells me that thankfully, the issue isn’t too serious.

For me, Martial’s the concerning one. We’re not sure as to the severity of his problem, coupled with the fact that this was his first time involved with the France national team in six months. After working his way back into Didier Deschamps’ plans, this must be incredibly frustrating…
