In a game that most Manchester United fans will want to forget rather quickly, being in that horrible position shown just how good our club and its fans are. At 4-0 down to our local rivals, the away support still out-sang the home fans quite easily. The picture below further goes to show exactly why our club has the best away following in the land.
Ahead of the Manchester derby, Virgin Media have decided to run a Twitter poll asking fans who they think would win the match. The votes will be added up and the Town Hall in Manchester will light up in proportion to how many votes are cast for each club. The competition runs until 12:30pm on Sunday afternoon.
United regained bragging rights across the city after overcoming the noisy neighbours in an epic derby match. Robin van Persie’s stoppage time winner gave the reds all three points and a six point cushion at the top of the table, albeit an awful long way to go in the title race.
After going over a year without a derby win in the league, United did what they do best to overcome our bitterest rivals yesterday. We found ourselves 2-0 up after half an hour played and somehow let City back into the game at 2-2. Enter Robin van Persie!
Robin van Persie will experience his first Manchester derby at the Etihad tomorrow and he could well be the difference between being behind on goal difference or being six points clear at the summit, heres to hoping it’s the latter. United head into the game with a few injury problems, especially in midfield, but we have plenty of goals in our side.

Every derby seems to be more important than the last, and albeit early on in the season, if we could win this one it could set down a real marker for the season ahead.
1. I don’t ever recall Fergie playing for a draw, I know he said otherwise but there was no way we went out to try and attack. It was expected though, because trying to attack a team that had previously won 17 and drawn 1 at home this season is just suicide.
The biggest game of the season is finally upon us, with the winner expected to go on and claim the title. Lets just hope our boys go out there and do us proud, our experience could be vital in us getting a result tonight. Come on lads!
The statement “the biggest derby ever” has been used at least once for the past few seasons, we had the Carling Cup semi finals in 2010, the FA cup semi last year, the league game at Old Trafford last year, and the Community Shield at the start of this season.
