Sadly, last night is the last we’ll see of our Manchester United heroes for at least a couple of months. Jose Mourinho and his players ended the campaign on a high, by winning the Europa League trophy and earning a place in the Champions League as a result.

Manchester United have spent heavily over the last two summers, as Louis van Gaal tries to mould his squad and bring players in that fit his philosophy, whilst clearing the dead wood out and freeing up some much-needed room in the wage bill.
It was a tough night for Manchester last night, as both the red and the blue sides of the city lost their Champions League openers, and suffered injuries. Luke Shaw went off with a potential season-ending injury, with Vincent Kompany limping off midway through the second half.
