As we all know oh so well, Manchester United and Jose Mourinho chose not to invest in any new players over January, as the manager was seemingly content with his playing squad. However, I believe things will be different come the summer, and it looks like that will be the case.

Manchester United Football Club are a global brand capable of luring in the best players from all corners of the world. However, over the last few years that hasn’t been the case. Now, without the lack of Champions League football, it feels as though we’re back on the map.
Manchester United have finally announced the departure of Louis van Gaal, with the manager leaving the club with immediate effect. The influential Dutchman hasn’t had the best of seasons this campaign, and unfortunately that has cost him his job.
Manchester United’s Edward Woodward addressed the media this morning, to go over things like the club debts levels (which have decreased), the fans, ticket prices and the club in general. During that he was asked about his thoughts about the emergence of the Chinese spending big money on players.
Manchester United have spent heavily over the last two summers, as Louis van Gaal tries to mould his squad and bring players in that fit his philosophy, whilst clearing the dead wood out and freeing up some much-needed room in the wage bill.
It was a tough night for Manchester last night, as both the red and the blue sides of the city lost their Champions League openers, and suffered injuries. Luke Shaw went off with a potential season-ending injury, with Vincent Kompany limping off midway through the second half.
