Brazilian left-back Fabio da Silva looks set to leave United on a permanent deal, ending his five year stay at the club. Sky Sports News suggest that the 23-year old has undergone a medical at St. George’s Park today, and the move could be completed as early as tomorrow.

Fabio da Silva was expected to leave Manchester United on loan during the January transfer window, however his agent Cassiano Pereira has admitted that he’ll be staying at Manchester United until the summer at least. He also added the point that United’s first choice right-back, and Fabio’s twin brother Rafael, could also leave.
Manchester United left-back Fabio Da Silva has indicated that he wants to leave Old Trafford in January, as he searches for regular first-team football to progress his career. Many forget that Fabio started the 2011 Champions League final in the right-back slot, but since then it has all gone down hill for the Brazilian.
Ever since their move to the club, the Da Silva twins have always been known to spend every second together. That changed last season – Fabio was struggling for games and Rafael was flourishing, the former was sent out to QPR on loan and now they have spoken out about that time apart.
Rafael scored the goal of his life against QPR at the weekend with his twin brother Fabio, watching on from the stands as he wasn’t eligible to play due to the agreements of his loan move. The 22-year old was sat next to the QPR president, and admitted he nearly celebrated Rafael’s screamer.
For four years now Rafael has been widely regarded as one of the best young players in the game, last year was by far his best in a red shirt but there is still more to come from the 21-year old. He simply has to make that right-back position his own this upcoming season.
It’s been a busy day for the twins of the da Silva household with both of the United defenders agreeing deals. Shortly after the news that Rafael had signed a new 4 year deal with the club, it was announced that his twin, Fabio, would be leaving the club on loan and heading to QPR.

In the past month we discovered that Fabio would be going out on loan next season, and he was heavily linked with a move to Benfica but he would now prefer a move to a fellow Premier League club.
