Andreas Pereira would prefer to stay at Manchester United, amid interest from Spanish club Valencia CF, according to ESPN’s sources. However, the 21-year-old is set to seek assurances from manager Jose Mourinho, because, quite clearly, he wants to be playing football.
The brilliant Brazilian was pretty outstanding during his loan spell with Granada last season, and he also had an excellent tour with the rest of the Red Devils squad before this campaign got underway.
However, he’s yet to feature in any of Mourinho’s matchday squads so far, and that is probably why Valencia have shown an interest in signing him.
I do like that Pereira wants to stay at the Theatre of Dreams and fight for his place, because you need that spirit to succeed at the highest level.
This is a man who has the potential to go all the way in this game. But, he will need to be given an opportunity to prove his worth. Of course, he will get his chance but for now, he’ll have to bide his time, remain patient and keep working hard in training.
He’ll look to the cup competitions first and foremost, and although United have some brilliant players, they aren’t very strong in depth in Pereira’s position – so if they pick up an injury or two, that could be his opening.
