Manchester United’s start to the domestic season has been rather woeful. Jose Mourinho’s men are already out of the title race. We’re halfway through November.
Things looked bright during pre-season when the self-proclaimed Special One was giving vital minutes to young up-and-comers, including Andreas Pereira.
However, after starting the opening two games, the Brazilian has found himself on the fringes of things, so-much-so that he’s considering calling time on his Old Trafford career. That’s what The Sportsman say anyway, as they cite reports from Yahoo.
Pereira’s United contract is winding down, in fact, he’d be a free agent next summer, and it doesn’t look as though the club are in any hurry to hand him a new deal, while I also doubt that the player would be willing to sign one anyway.
Personally, I always felt like he was never going to make it at United. I think the fact that he went on back-to-back loans in Spain tells you everything. If Mourinho was fond of his talents, then Pereira would have already had ample opportunity to play for the club – rather than only getting his chances on pre-season tours.
Where will he end up? Who knows, but his style certainly suits Spain.
