Manchester United’s squad is struggling with injuries once again. That isn’t helping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s quest to deliver Champions League football for next season but the Baby Faced Assassin is certainly doing his best.
With Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic both out injured, opportunities for youngsters are presented. Now, according to the Manchester Evening News, both Angel Gomes and Mason Greenwood are with the squad to take on West Ham United this evening.
I think it’s fair to say that United’s attack has looked toothless recently. Granted, we’ve been going up against some top quality opponents but perhaps that injection of youth is exactly what is needed.
Greenwood and Gomes have shown they’ve both got huge potential to go an awful long way in this sport, although we’ve only seen glimpses of their ability so far.
Who knows, if United need a goal late on, Solskjaer could throw one, or both of these two on the field and there is every chance that they could bring something different to the table.
At the very least it’s a good experience for them to be with the squad. It’ll only help them feel more comfortable so that they’re fully ready when the time comes when they’re regulars in the first-team.
