Manchester United and Jose Mourinho will be preparing for the Community Shield this weekend, and ahead of that game, our new manager was putting his players through their paces in training. There were a couple of timely returns to the senior squad, too.
The Manchester Evening News say that Manchester United welcomed Timothy Fosu-Mensah back to first-team training after a minor injury, and there was also a place in the action for Joe Riley.
Riley, 19, is one of the hottest talents at Manchester United at the moment, and made his debut in the FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury under Louis van Gaal last season.
What else is there to say about Timothy Fosu-Mensah other than the fact that he has tremendous potential. The Dutchman is versatile, and offers Mourinho a solid outlet at several key positions. Perhaps right-back is his best shot, though, and he could well challenge Antonio Valencia for that berth going forward.
