Manchester United have plenty of goalkeepers on their books at the moment, from David de Gea and Sergio Romero in the first-team, to Sam Johnstone and Joel Pereira in the reserves. However another youth goalkeeper looks set for an exit from Manchester United this summer.
The Manchester Evening News say that George Dorrington, who signed for the club back in 2013, is set to leave Old Trafford this summer, and has just left on trial to Huddersfield Town who are keen on the young man.
Furthermore, the MEN go on to say that Dorrington has already played two games for Town’s reserve sides, as he looks to secure a contract with the Championship side.
Dorrington’s career at Manchester United never really got going, as he suffered a string of serious injuries that really hampered his development, despite being regarded as an excellent prospect for the future.
Perhaps a move away is in the best interests of all involved, but none more so than the goalkeeper himself, who needs that regular football at this stage in his fledgling career.
