Manchester United Football Club’s talks with Inter Milan regarding a move for Ivan Perisic have stalled. That’s according to the Daily Mail, who adds that the Serie A club have asked for a season-long loan for Anthony Martial as any potential deal regarding the Croatia international.
So far, United’s transfer window has been a bit of a slow burner. The signings of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku will undoubtedly prove to be great bits of business, but you just cannot help but feel we need more.
Apparently, Milan value Perisic at £45million, and for a man who is almost 29, you can understand why United and Jose Mourinho haven’t met that amount as of yet. With Inter asking for Martial as part of a solution, I can only imagine that has made a deal even further away.
I’d love for us to sign Perisic, as in the short-term I think he’d help us massively. However, I just don’t see any logic in letting Martial leave. The Frenchman is one of the best, young attackers in the world right now – and he can offer us so much in the 2017/18 campaign.
There is still time for Edward Woodward to get another player or two in, with the transfer window being open for another month yet.
