Roy Hodgson and Gareth Southgate have named their respective England squads for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers, and it includes no fewer than ten Manchester United players amongst both squads. Ashley Young has missed out though, and due to recent performances it is hardly surprising.
Phil Jones and Chris Smallong are the two United defenders called-up, but both may not get starts due to Hodgson’s preference of Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka at the heart of the defence. The midfield pair of Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley are also named, with the former certainly pushing for a start as England look to qualify for next years tournament in Brazil. There are also expected call-ups for Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck, the duo look almost certain to start both qualifiers.
Four Manchester United youngsters have also been called up, including Wilfried Zaha and Michael Keane, plus the loaned out duo of Jesse Lingard and Nick Powell who are at Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic respectively.

A special mention goes to Ravel Morrison too, after having a bit of a torrid start to his senior football career at Manchester United has now gone onto do well for West Ham this season. Who knows, if he continues he could end up back at Old Trafford.
