Manchester United will be in the market for a new right-back this summer. That’s a given after Antonio Valencia is leaving, while who knows what’ll happen to Matteo Darmian…
Earlier in the week, we covered an article from ESPN, in which it was claimed that United were interested in Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier.
Anyway, L’Equipe say that the 27-year-old Meunier ‘dreams’ of signing for United due to his longstanding support of the Old Trafford club.
However, the 20-time Premier League champions ‘favour’ a move for Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka at this time.
At this point, there has been no official offer from United tabled for Meunier, however, with PSG needing to raise €30m before the end of June to pass FFP regulations, it seems as though their asking price for the right-back has been lowered.
Now, PSG are wanting €20m (£18m) to sell the versatile Meunier, which in this day and age, is an absolute bargain.
For me, even if United were intent on signing Wan-Bissaka this summer, why not go out and get Meunier anyway? He’s cheap, versatile and ready to come in and play for the club he supports. Surely that’s a no brainer…?
